Capitano is a braggart Spanish captain who is really a chicken. The Capitano is usually given to long braggadocios, boasts filled with long tall tales of his bravery, punctuated with him being frightened by his own shadow. Flat-footed, clumsy and not very bright, he is at the mercy of every trickster and flirt. Often confounded most terribly by himself and his own servant, he still manages to rebuild his dignity and bravado time and time again. It is fun to have him memorize long names of the people in his heritage and funny names of places he has traveled to do great deeds of bravery. His only skill is in such orations as those done quickly, in the hope that no one notices he’s making it up as he goes along. He makes a great pratfall and slapstick recipient.
